Championing independent farmers, food-makers, and hosts who sustain community, culture, and resilient local economies.
Our Purpose
At a time when so much of what we cherish feels hollowed out, we partner with owner‑operators who are deeply committed to their craft.
Focused on agriculture, food, and hospitality; we believe these small businesses are essential to our collective well‑being and are the lifeblood of our communities. They preserve tradition, create local jobs, safeguard food systems, and foster meaningful connections between people.
By investing and working alongside independent small operators, we help build places where culture and communities thrive.
Main Street
We believe that low-rise main street retail stores are the foundation of vibrant, safe, and walkable neighbourhoods. The antiseptic feel of retail that’s merely grafted onto the ground floor of new condo towers rarely creates the same sense of place as the old-school two- or three-storey buildings that define our city’s most beloved streets. Bringing these buildings back to life — and keeping them occupied by independent businesses — is central to how we shape the neighbourhoods we care about.
Who We Are
After decades in tech, we left when our values diverged from the private equity investors whose sole focus became cost-cutting at the expense of people and product quality. We made a radical pivot to agriculture, food, and hospitality. Facing shrinking margins and high failure rates, these industries benefit from the capital and experience we bring to let passionate operators focus on what they do best; their craft, their product.
Our approach removes unnecessary middlemen and builds end‑to‑end supply chains of like‑minded businesses that support one another. That allows operators to make a good living, treat their staff well, pay living wages, and protect what makes their product worth caring about — rather than prioritizing profit for distant shareholders. Companies main focus used to be their product. Now the companies themselves have become the product, prioritizing profit for a disinterested external constituency. We aim to restore attention to the product itself and to the communities that depend on it.
